What You Should Know About Motivation

THE IMPORTANCE OF INSPIRATION

There has to be initial inspiration in what you are trying to accomplish. Inspiration opens your mind to possibilities. Whatever you find your inspiration in, an idea, a story, a person, it will give you a vision of your goal that will motivate you. Inspiration comes from what you truly want within. 

 

THE TRUTH

The question everybody wants the answer to, “How do I stay motivated to workout?”. Well let’s just get straight to that simple answer, motivation won’t always be there. Everyone goes through phases of feeling super motivated and phases of feeling very unmotivated. A lot of us are searching for the answer on how to keep our motivation there 24/7 but the reality is motivation comes and goes.


HOW TO STAY CONSISTENT

Then you ask the question,  “Well, if I’m not always going to be motivated how can I stay consistent?”. There’s a simple answer to this question also but that doesn’t mean it's easy. You must have discipline and desire for change. This means regardless of how you're feeling (tired, unmotivated, etc) and the excuses you're telling yourself  (i’ll do it next week, it's already late, etc) you do what needs to be done because you WANT to achieve your goals.


WHAT HAS KEPT ME GOING

What has gotten me from the beginning of my fitness journey to now is having a desire for change backed up by discipline and determination. I found myself so inspired by other girls' fitness journeys and Instagram accounts because they accomplished what I wanted to accomplish. Being fit and healthy was something I truly wanted for myself so I was determined to become that. To this day my motivation isn’t always there, but I have made fitness a part of my everyday life and have enough discipline to not let lack of motivation stop me. 

IT GETS EASIER

At first, when your motivation dies down there is no doubt it will be challenging to keep going. However, if you keep pushing through while being repetitive and consistent with your actions, you will make whatever task you are doing normal and a habit. Over time it will become a part of you and your lifestyle.


APPLY THIS TO ANYTHING

This is not limited to fitness goals, this goes for anything you want to achieve in life. You have to have discipline and a desire for what you want! No one has achieved the success they want by relying on motivation to get them there. You have to put in the work regardless.
