Morning Routines
WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE A MORNING ROUTINE
The first things you think and do when you wake up almost always determines how the rest of your day will go. By developing a good morning routine everyday you are setting yourself up for success. Who wouldn’t want to have a great and productive day?MY MORNING ROUTINE
I wake up almost everyday at 5:30-6:00am. I feel the best when I wake up early and am able to enjoy my morning. It's also great to get a head start on my day. I DO NOT look at or go on my phone.
I always leave a notebook on the side of my bed so when I wake up I can easily grab it and write 5 things I am grateful for. I then write out my set of goals both short and long term. I write the same ones everyday. After I take 5-10 minutes to just quickly journal my thoughts. This all together takes me only about 20 minutes and has me feeling motivated for my day.
I make my bed everyday. My bed only takes about 3 minutes to make but it is a great way for me to get a very simple task done as soon as I wake up and practice discipline.
I take my dogs on a short walk every morning at 6:30 no longer than 15-20 minutes. I love getting outside early for fresh air when its quite and most people aren't out.
I make a cup of coffee because I think most can agree something about drinking a hot cup of coffee in the morning is just so great.
I start to read at about 7:00 and read for about 30-1hr then get ready for the gym. Reading and drinking my coffee is my favorite part of my morning.
This is my morning routine most days, not every single day but most of them because I genuinely love it. I still have so many things I want to add too it and that is the exciting part! Also, keep in mind a morning routine reflects your night time routine. If you are wanting to wake up earlier that means going to sleep earlier.
IMPLEMENT THINGS SLOWLY
I did not develop a morning routine over night. I have been working towards a good morning routine for probably 2-3 months. The first thing I did was start waking up at 8:00 then every week I would make it a goal to get up 15-30 minutes earlier. This helped me make waking up early a sustainable change. Then I started to slowly change and add other things to my morning.
FIND A ROUTINE YOU LOVE
I am just sharing what my morning consists of to give you an idea. I love my morning routine and everything in it. The key is to find things you personally want to work on and implement in your own routine. Your morning routine is your morning routine; it doesn’t need to look like anyone else's. It’s about what makes you get excited and feeling the best for your day.
